SPECIAL EDUCATION SHOWChairman: Shelly Lane Arrival Time: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. – Friday, March 28, 2008 (WINNERS WILL BE POSTED ABOUT 1:00 P.M. ON FRIDAY, MARCH 28TH AT THE EXHIBITION BUILDING) PICK UP ITEMS IMMEDIATELY AFTER WINNERS ARE ANNOUNCED Presentation of Awards: Monday, March 31, 2008 – 5:00 p.m. 1. This Show will be divided into two Divisions: Division I to include students who are enrolled in Special Education Classes at least 51% of the school day. Division II to include students enrolled in self contained classes and may be housed either on a regular campus or separate facility. 2. Articles can be exhibited only by the maker or producer. 3. All entries must be ones which have been started since April 1, 2007. 4. No entry fee will be charged for this Show. Winners may receive only one cash award. 5. The cost of two (2) pictures will be taken from the prize money. (One for the buyer and one for the exhibitor). 6. An exhibitor cannot enter and/or sell an item in the Special Education Auction and in the Jr. Non-Livestock Auction. 7. The Special Education Show Chairman has the discretion to place any item into any category and/or division they deem fit. 8. Entry forms must be turned in to the Fair Office by Friday, February 29, 2008.
AWARDSA Grand, Reserve, 3 rd and 4 th Place will be chosen from each of the six categories for Division I and Division II. The Montgomery County Fair Association will obtain buyers for all the Grand, Reserve, 3 rd and 4 th Place winners. Grand will receive $250, Reserve will receive $225, 3 rd place will receive $200 and 4 th place will receive $175. Monies will be awarded along with the trophies on Monday, March 31 st at 5:00 p.m. Monies for (2) two pictures will be deducted from the winnings. These pictures will be mailed to the buyer and the exhibitor.
CATEGORIESDIVISION I AND DIVISION II SECTION A. BAKED GOODS - Cakes from scratch, Cakes from mix, Candy, Cookies, Breads and Pies. NO DECORATED CAKES. SECTION B. ARTS – Mounted and/or matted pictures; sculptures and constructions. Size 11” x 14” or 16” x 20”. (Indicate whether made with kit or original) SECTION C. HANDICRAFTS – Macrame, Painted T-Shirts, Salt painting, Glass craft, Dried and/or artificial arrangements or any item that may not fit anywhere else. (Indicate whether made with kit or original) SECTION D. WOODCRAFT – By hand, by machine, burning, painting. (Indicate whether made with kit or original) SECTION E. NEEDLECRAFTS – Made by hand or machine using any type needle or hook. (Indicate whether made with kit or original) SECTION F. HORTICULTURE – Live plants and/or flowers. |
