LIVESTOCK JUDGING CONTEST

Registration: 7:00 to 8:30 a.m.
Contest: 9:00 a.m.
Entry Deadline: Tuesday, March 11, 2008
Entry Fee: $20 per team and $5 per individual/$25 per team and $7 per individual after deadline

1) Each FFA Chapter or County 4-H may enter as many teams as they wish if they are entered before the deadline. Each team will be comprised of 3 or 4 members with the 3 highest scores used for tabulation. Individuals may also judge.

2) There will be two age divisions: Junior and Senior. The Junior Division will consist of members who are in the 8 th grade or below. The Senior Division will consist of students in the 9 th – 12 th grade. Younger students may move up to the Senior Division if necessary, but older students cannot move down. There will be no separate divisions for 4-H and FFA.

3) Twelve placing classes will be available for judging. There will also be a question class. The classes will consist of two classes each of market swine, market lambs, and market steers plus one class of breeding heifers, market goats, one class of keep/cull, and one class of breeding bulls and one class of slaughter grading. Official FFA scantron sheets will be used. There will be a supply available at the contest. The officials will place and give reasons at the conclusion of the contest. Texas FFA CDE Rules will apply!

4) The top five teams in each division will receive plaques. Individual awards will include: belt buckle for high point senior and junior and plaques for 2nd through 10th.

5) The entry fee is $20.00 per team or $5.00 per individual. The entry deadline is March 11, 2008. Any team entering after this date, including the morning of the contest, will be charged $25.00 per team or $7.00 per individual.

6) County animals may be used in judging contest.
