JUNIOR FINE ARTS SHOW
Chairman: Pat Holder 1. The general rules for all Junior Non-Livestock Shows apply to the Fine Arts Show as well as the following special rules. 2. Individuals can exhibit only four entries. You cannot enter any Section more than once. AN ENTRY FEE OF $10.00 PER ITEM ENTERED will be charged. A separate entry card for each item must be filled out. 3. NO COPIES will be accepted. All art should be the original work of the artist. No more than one student may work on an entry. 4. All flat entries must be matted or mounted on rigid poster board and READY FOR HANGING WITH A SUBSTANTIAL METAL HANGER. The board should be heavy enough to prevent sagging. The mat should be no larger than 3” on any side. The size of entries: Flat entries: Minimum 11”x14” matted, maximum 22”x28” matted. Sculpture: Not to exceed 20” horizontally or vertically. NO FRAMED PIECES, GLASS, UNMOUNTED OR UN-MATTED WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR JUDGING. PAINTINGS ON CANVAS STRETCHER FRAMES AND WORK DONE ON WOOD OR MASONITE MUST HAVE A HOOK OR WIRE ON THE BACK FOR HANGING. 5. No plastic figures, commercial objects or lettering may be used as part of any picture or construction. All work must be DRY. Charcoals and pastels should be sprayed. It is recommended that entries consisting of pastels or charcoal be protected from the elements by means of a transparent protective covering. 6. Sculpture and Constructions: Figures may be constructed of clay, metal, wood, chicken wire, papier mache, assemblages or combinations of the above. Wire sculptures must have a base. Sculptures made of wax, toothpicks or other fragile materials will not be accepted. 7. Exhibits must be brought by the Exhibitor or by a member of his/her immediate family ONLY. 8. NO ARTWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED WITH THE STUDENT’S NAME ON THE FRONT. ALL ARTWORK SHOULD HAVE STUDENT’S NAME, AGE, ART TEACHER AND SCHOOL CLEARLY MARKED ON THE BACK. 9. Inappropriate subject matter will be disqualified at Chairman’s discretion. AWARDSThe preliminary judges may pick up to ten top winners. These exhibitors will receive Finalist Rosettes and must be present at the final judging. Individuals cannot make the top 10 more than once. The Final Judging will pick the Grand, Reserve, 3 rd and 4 th place winner. Grand, Reserve, 3 rd and 4 th place winners will receive trophies and will sell their item at the Auction. IF AN ITEM DOES NOT FIT THE DIMENSIONS OF THE DISPLAY CASE, BECAUSE OF SECURITY RISKS, THE ITEM WILL NOT BE DISPLAYED . An additional ten Honorable Mentions may be selected.
