BREEDING BEEF DIVISION

Arrival Time – Friday, April 9th , 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Check-In – Friday, April 9th from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Judging Date – Sunday, April 11th , 9:00 a.m.

THIS IS A HEIFER SHOW ONLY – NO BULLS

1. This division is subject to the General Rules and these Division rules.

2. Open to all 4-H and FFA members that are enrolled in public, private, parochial schools or Home Educated students. If an exhibitor requires a General Exception Form (refer to Page ), it will be due on January 5, 2010. Each application will be reviewed for compliance.

3. Grand and Reserve Belt Buckles will be awarded to division winners. Showmanship jackets will be awarded. Rosettes will be given to Champion and Reserve Breed Champions.

a. All others will receive ribbons.

b. The Fair Association will contribute $1500 to prize money and have a 60/40 payback on entry fees. (The 60% will go to the exhibitors, 40% to the Fair).

c. If only one entry in a class, 2 nd place prize money will be awarded.

4. All Breeding Livestock must be owned by the exhibitor. Ownership and age of livestock must be verified either by presentation of registration papers (if livestock is registered) or by other recorded verification of their age (if livestock is not registered). Replacement Heifers are eligible to show.

5. All breeding stock must be double-tied.

6. No bedding hay.

7. Judging will be done in the following order:

AMERICAN DIVISION – Brahman, Brahmousin, Braler, Brangus, Beefmaster, Longhorn, Red Brangus, Santa Gertrudis, Simbrah & ABC. The first and second place of each breed will be called back to choose the Grand and Reserve of the American Division.

ENGLISH DIVISION – Angus, Red Angus, Hereford, Polled Hereford & Shorthorn. The first and second place of each breed will be called back to choose the Grand and Reserve of the English Division.

EXOTIC DIVISION – Braunvieh, Charolais, Chianina, Gelbvieh, Limousin, Pinzagauer, Maine Anjou, Saler, Simmental & AOB. The first and second place of each breed will be called back to choose the Grand and Reserve of the Exotic Division.

Breeds will be broken down into the following classes:

6 to 10 months – born 6/1/09 through 9/30/09
10 to 14 months – born 2/1/09 through 5/31/09
14 to 18 months – born 10/1/08 through 1/31/09
18 to 24 months – born 4/1/08 through 9/30/08
24 to 30 months – born 10/1/07 through 3/31/08

*If six (6) head of a particular breed arrive for judging then a class will be set up for them, based on entry due date of February 26th.

9. Entries must be in the Fair Office no later than FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2010 BY 5:00 P.M. WITH A $20.00 ENTRY FEE PER HEAD.

10. BREEDING BEEF ENTRIES WILL BE RELEASED IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE BREEDING BEEF SHOW ON SUNDAY, APRIL 11TH.

JR. AND SR. SHOWMANSHIP IS OPEN TO ALL EXHIBITORS WHO WISH TO PARTICIPATE. YOU PAY $5.00 (CASH) AT THE ENTRY GATE AND THE WINNER WILL BE AWARDED ALL PROCEEDS AT THE EXIT GATE.
