GENERAL RULES FOR ALL

NON PROFESSIONAL ADULT SHOWS

CHECK-IN FOR ALL ADULT SHOWS: 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.
SUNDAY, MARCH 30, 2008

JUDGING: 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.
AWARDS PRESENTATION: SUNDAY, MARCH 30, 2008 – 5:00 P.M.
*PICK UP ITEMS AFTER AWARDS SUNDAY NIGHT: 6:00 P.M.

1. An individual participating in any Adult Show must be eighteen years of age and a resident of Montgomery County. Any individual serving as chairman or assistant chairman cannot participate in the show in which he/she serves as chairman or assistant chairman. An individual serving as a committeeman (worker) cannot be present at the judging of the show in which he has entered. Any individual serving as a Judge can be present only at the judging.

2. Persons of amateur standing who derive more than 1/3 of their individual income from SELLING, TEACHING OR INSTRUCTING similar items, as those presented to the Fair as their entries, are deemed professionals and are ineligible to participate. This is an amateur show.

3. Entries may be exhibited only by the individual creating it.

4. Individuals who were Best of Division winners at the 2007 Montgomery County Fair cannot enter that particular division of the show in which they won their award for the 2007 Montgomery County Fair. Previous entries (items) in the Montgomery County Fair are not eligible for re-entry.

5. Registration cards will be available at the Fair Office at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds or call (936) 760-3631. Mail registration card with entry fee of $10.00 per show entered to:

The entry fee entitles exhibitor to free admission on Sunday, March 30, 2008. Make checks payable to the Montgomery County Fair Association. Registration cards and entry fees must reach the Fair Office no later than WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12, 2008. LATE ENTRIES WILL BE TAKEN.

6. Entries will be watched and every precaution will be taken to protect all exhibits, but in no case will the Montgomery County Fair Association be held responsible for loss, theft, breakage or damage.

7. Entries will be judged and awarded ribbons: Blue (Excellent), Red (Good), and White (Fair). A Second (Purple), Third (Gold), Fourth (Pink) and Fifth (Yellow) place rosette may be given in each Division of each Show. A First place award will be given in each Division of each Show. Cash awards are as follows:

*BEST OF DIVISION……………………$100.00
*SECOND PLACE……………………….$ 75.00
*THIRD PLACE………………………….$ 50.00

EXHIBITOR MAY WIN ONLY ONE CASH AWARD IN EACH DIVISION. CHECKS WILL BE MAILED.

Best of Division, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth Place Division winners will be present for the awards presentation on Sunday night, March 30, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.

*8. Entries must be picked up immediately after AWARDS PRESENTATION by presenting Exhibitor’s tag.

9. The top five (5) winner’s items in each Division will be displayed on the Fairgrounds from Sunday night, after the Awards presentation until Tuesday. Items will need to be picked up on Tuesday, April 1st, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. with presentation of exhibitor’s tag.

10. Special rules also apply for each of the following Adult Shows: Home Economics, Needlecraft, Handicraft, Fine Arts and Photography.
