65 & OLDER DIVISION

THIS SHOW WILL BE IN CONJUNCTION WITH SENIOR CITIZEN’S DAY AT THE FAIR

CHECK-IN: 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M.
JUDGING: 10:30 A.M. – 12:00 NOON
AWARDS ANNOUNCEMENT: Following Lunch Break
GENERAL VIEWING: During break of Sr. Citizens Day and immediately following Sr. Citizens activities.
PICK UP ITEMS: Immediately after awards announcements or at 3:00 p.m.
NUMBER OF ENTRIES PER EXHIBITOR: Individuals can exhibit eight (8) items.

1. Exhibitor must be 65 years of age or a full time resident of a convalescent center, and a resident of Montgomery County.

2. Articles can be exhibited only by the maker or producer.

3. No Entry Fee will be charged for this show. Exhibitors may only win one Best of Division Award in each division.

4. Entries will be judged and awarded ribbons: Blue (Excellent), Red (Good), and White (Fair). A first place award will be given in each Division of each show. A second and third place rosette may be given in each division.

5. Entries will be watched and every precaution will be taken to protect all exhibits, but in no case will the Montgomery County Fair Association be held responsible for loss, theft, breakage or damage.

6. The 65 & Older Show Chairman has the discretion to place any item into any category and/or division they deem fit.

DIVISIONS

DIVISION I. CANNED FOODS FROM SCRATCH (RECIPES OPTIONAL)
All entries in the Canned Food Division must be in a standard jar (pint or quart) made especially for canning. The jar should be clean and labeled on the side of jar as to the contents and the date it was preserved. The lids and rims must be standard and free of rust. Any jar not sealed will be disqualified.

No soiled articles will be accepted. All articles should be covered with transparent plastic wrap that can be easily opened and closed. Indicate whether a kit was used to make the article or if it is a handmade original.

Because of the vast number of types of crafts, it is impossible to set up classes for each . INDICATE WHETHER A KIT WAS USED TO MAKE THE ARTICLE OR IF IT IS A HANDMADE ORIGINAL.
