BROILER DIVISION Arrival Time – Saturday, April 14th, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon 1. This Division is subject to the General Rules and these Division Rules. If an exhibitor requires a General Exception Form (refer to Page 2), it will be due when the birds are ordered. Each application will be reviewed for compliance. 2. Only broiler pens will be shown. A pen consists of 3 broilers – One pen per exhibitor. 3. The first three (3) broilers presented to the sifter will be the pen. No substitutions. Judging will begin when birds are presented at the sift. 4. Broiler pens will be sifted prior to entry into the show. The sift will consist of a check for breast blisters, bruises and lack of fleshing. Any one (1) broiler failing the sift will eliminate the entire pen. Any bird not appearing healthy will require the sifting of the entire pen. 5. Sifted broilers will be turned over to the Montgomery County Fair Association for removal from Fairgrounds. 6. All birds must be cared for by the exhibitor. EXHIBITORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING FEED AND WATER FOR THEIR PEN OF BROILERS. EXHIBITORS WHO FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THIS RULE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SHOW THE FOLLOWING YEAR. 7. All birds will be ordered through the Montgomery County Fair Office by October 7, 2011. A minimum of fifty (50) birds must be ordered, and in increments of 50. Birds may be ordered in the family name, AND ALL SIBLINGS THAT PLAN TO SHOW MUST BE LISTED ON THE ORDER FORM. ONCE BIRDS HAVE BEEN ORDERED, NO CHANGES IN NAME CAN BE MADE. 8. All birds will be wing-banded at time of purchase. No bird will be shown without wing-band in place. One (1) bird in the pen without a wing-band will sift the entire pen. Bands will be checked for number and condition. 9. NO CARRYING CAGES, FEED, ETC. WILL BE ALLOWED TO REMAIN IN THE SHOW AREA. 10. The use of drugs not approved for Poultry used for human consumption will not be allowed. 11. Entries are due in the Fair Office on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2012 BY 5:00 P.M. WITH A $20.00 ENTRY FEE. 12. A helper of an exhibitor must be a current member in good standing of the same 4-H or FFA as the exhibitor. THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY FAIR IS A TERMINAL SHOW FOR BROILERS. ALL BROILERS ENTERING THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS WILL BELONG TO THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE SHOW. |
