Montgomery County Fair & Rodeo
Scholarship Ride
The Scholarship Trail Ride takes place prior to the Fair each year in March.
Money for scholarships is provided by sponsorships, donors, ride fees, and
an auction. Riders assemble at the campsite, with most of the
two-day ride taking place in the National Forest. For additional information

Ride donations benefit all eleven high schools in Montgomery County.
Ride Donation: $20.00 - 12 & under free
Donation includes Saturday night dinner & auction plus one (1) day pass to the Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo..

Friday, March 26th
Camp opens.

Saturday, March 27th
Pullout from camp at 9:00 a.m. for 17 mile circle ride with majority of ride through the National Forest. No traffic and mostly dirt roads.
Sunday, March 28th
Cowboy Church at 8:30 a.m.
Pullout at 9:30 a.m. for 12 mile circle ride
- 90% of Ride will be through National Forest
- Port-a-cans & water (for animals) on ride and at camp
- Standard trailride rules apply - re-cap listed below
- Ride will be catered by Shade Tree Kookers
- Emergency medical team at camp and on ride for entire weekend.
NO ICE will be available for purchase on the ride.
Trophies awarded for youngest and oldest rider, best wagon, best wagon group, top hand, horsemanship and hard luck award. Awards given out following Saturday night dinner prior to auction.
Directions to new campsite:
- Intersection of FM 2296 and FM 2929, turn on Four Notch Road.
- Go across railroad tracks, turn left on Dorrell Road.
- Go 1/4 mile, campsite on right. Trailride signs will be posted.

Trailride Rules:
All riders are subject to TAHC Rules regarding current negative Coggins test.
No stallions, uncontrollable horses, or uncontrollable mules allowed.
All dogs must be on a leash at all times.
No glass receptacles allowed on ride.
Trailride buttons will be worn on outside of coats-visible at all times.
No double riding allowed.
No firearms or illegal drugs will be allowed.
No unauthorized vehicles will be allowed to follow the ride.
Each person is responsible for cleaning their camp site.
Minors must be accompanied by a guardian or responsible adult at all times.
No vulgar or abusive language will be tolerated either in person or coming from music selected by individuals while on the ride or in camp. This is a family ride.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE OR LOSS OF PROPERTY.
ANY PERSON DISOBEYING THESE RULES WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE RIDE.
