Country Store

MISSION STATEMENT

The Country Store serves as an outlet for the sale of handicrafts provided by participants of the Adult Show. We also sell a variety of MCFA shirts, caps, and other official merchandise. The Country Store is staffed by MCFA committee volunteers, with all proceeds benefiting the Fair Associaiton. We strive to be open during most of the hours of our 10 day event.

 

RULES

1. You must have paid an entry fee, entered and participated in competition in the Adult Non-Professional Division of the Montgomery County Fair for the current year. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of income and eligibility to participate in future shows. A participating 4-H or FFA group with exhibitors in the current Montgomery County Fair may sell their items in the Country Store. Clubs must enter items as a “group” and not as individuals.

2. You must enter for sale those items listed in the official Montgomery County Fair Catalog rules for Non-Professional Adult Shows and Jr. Non-Livestock Shows for the current year.

3. Canned products are to have been prepared within the last year only. The jar must be clean and labeled on the side of jar as to the contents and the date it was preserved. The lids and rims must be standard and free of rust. All jars must be sealed.

4. All baked items must be labeled and dated. Any perishable baked goods not sold or picked up may be discarded at the discretion of the Country Store Committee.

5. No used or damaged articles will be accepted. All merchandise must have been made in the last year. Items entered in the Country Store last year which did not sale, may not be re-entered.

6. Other additional items to restock may be brought in daily 30 minutes before doors open. ONCE DOORS OPEN, YOU MAY NOT RESTOCK UNTIL THE FOLLOWING DAY. SATURDAY MORNING, APRIL 17TH WILL BE THE LAST TIME TO RESTOCK.

7. Twenty percent (20%) of the sale price will go to the Montgomery County Fair Association. Checks less the 20% and sales tax will be mailed to Seller or group within thirty days. Payments will be made only on those items for which the Country Store has a yellow tag.

8. Participants may come by the Fair Office the week of Monday, March 22nd–Friday, March 26th to pick up Seller number, sale tags and sale cards.

9. Items must be tagged and brought to the Country Store Thursday, April 8th between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

10. All items not sold must be picked up no later than Sunday, April 18th between 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m. Items not picked up will become the property of the Montgomery County Fair Association. NO EXCEPTIONS.

11. The County Store Committee reserves the right to reject any item that does not qualify or is in bad taste.

12. All items for sale must be created by the seller and no commercially reproduced items will be accepted. Commercial Exhibitors will be allowed to enter items for sale in the Country Store if they meet the guidelines of the Non Professional Adult Show rules.

13. Sale items must have a yellow sale tag attached with the following information:

1) Seller’s name and address
2) Name of item
3) Sale Price

14. Sale cards must have a numerical list of all items with the same number as the yellow sale tags. Sale cards MUST be completed before items are checked in.

15. No item shall be priced under $1.00 and must be in increments of 50 cents. All items must be priced to include sales tax. MCFA will report all sales and pay appropriate sales tax on items sold.

16. All precautions will be taken, however, the Montgomery County Fair Association will not be responsible for items lost, damaged or stolen.

17. The Country Store Committee will accept donated new handmade items, will price those items and the entire sale will go to the Montgomery County Fair Association.

18. THE COUNTRY STORE COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DISPLAY OR STOCK ITEMS AT THEIR DISCRETION.

19. The Country Store will be staffed by Committee members and volunteers.
